4 Days Depart Kathmandu
Marshyangdi means Raging River in the local dialect, a fitting description for this kind of whitewater. It includes a short hike, spread out over two days, after a road journey of 5-6 hours from Kathmandu. The walk takes you through charming villages, sculpted terraces and emerald fields. The Marshyangdi is one of the next generations of rivers in Nepal, steeper and with a much more continuous stretch of rapids and unadultered solid whitewater from the very first day. Rapids are steep, technical and relentless. The crystal blue water thunders down deep cataracts, lush jungles cling precariously to the canyon walls and surreal mountains stand suspended high above the forested ridges. It is only on the last day that the river opens up a bit and allows time to relax and reflect on the beauty of this prime area.
